Calling all local Artists and Heritage Artisans

Artists and Heritage Artisans

The grain elevator offers a rare and inspiring opportunity for artists and heritage artisans to connect their work with a place of deep historical significance. We invite painters, sculptors, photographers, textile artists, woodworkers, metalworkers, and traditional craftspeople to take part in interpretive and creative work that celebrates the elevator’s history, purpose, and spirit.

This is a place where art and craftsmanship can be experienced, not just displayed. Artists and artisans may be invited to exhibit finished works, create site-inspired pieces, or demonstrate aspects of their craft during tours and special events. Seeing creative processes unfold within a historic structure adds depth, meaning, and human connection to the visitor experience.

For heritage artisans and skilled craftspeople, the project also offers opportunities to share traditional techniques and knowledge — whether through demonstrations, workshops, or interpretive participation tied to the building’s agricultural and industrial past. These contributions help bring history to life in a way that is tangible, engaging, and accessible to all ages.

Participation is intended to be collaborative and respectful, highlighting both the integrity of the building and the individuality of each artist or artisan. The goal is not commercialization alone, but meaningful engagement — connecting creativity, history, and community in a shared space.

By contributing your work or skills, you help transform the grain elevator into a living cultural environment — one that honors the past while encouraging creativity, learning, and expression in the present.
